Running Picasa on Windows 8
Although on the Picasa website in the list of compatible operating systems, Windows 8 is not present, I did install it and I can say with certainty that it works great. So, if you were wandering if Picasa works on WIndows 8, then the answer is a definite YES.
Users can download and install the 3rd version of Picasa from the official website, and as you know, it is free of charge (download link will be provided at the end of the article). Once you have installed the program, it will automatically start scanning your computer for photos.
If you plan to use Picasa on your Windows 8 computer for uploading photos to your Google+ profile, then you will need to log on to your account by using the link at the top right corner of the Picasa window. Furthermore after the scan is complete, you will be able to upload any photos or albums to your profile by clicking on the Sync button on the right of each folder. In terms of editing, not much has changes in the latest updates, so users can still make the classic modifications to their photos, like balance colors, contrast, rotate and add certain effects.
